(SO) the Story Goes is a 152 page anthology published by Gato Negro Editions that brings together fifteen Los Angeles based artists paired with international writers in a series of essays exploring storytelling as a transformative artistic method. Through installations, performances, video, and text, the artists engage themes of identity, memory, and myth while challenging rigid definitions and embracing fluidity. Curated by Prospect Art, the publication highlights how personal narratives expand into collective resonance. The featured works address issues such as migration, trauma, and ecological crisis, redefining belonging and mapping impermanence with emotional depth and critical insight.
